About the Role
Applications are sought for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work on the clinical translation of Ga-68, Lu-177 and alpha particle emitter radiopeptides for PET imaging and radionuclide therapy. The successful applicant will have significant research experience in radiochemistry (especially complexation chemistry using radiometals) and radiochemical analysis and will be developing GMP-grade radiopharmaceuticals for clinical trials. The research will be carried out at the Cancer Imaging Laboratory, Centre for Biomarkers and Biotherapeutics, Barts Cancer Institute within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London at Charterhouse Square and the Radiopharmacy Department of Nuclear Medicine, St Bartholomew’s Hospital.
About You
Essential requirements for this post include a PhD in radiochemistry/radiopharmaceutical science or an MSc with equivalent research experience. Proficiency in cell binding assays, in vivo biodistribution and imaging studies would be an advantage as would experience in working in clinical radiopharmacy, with EU-GMP and a Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS). A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records is also essential.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 18 months, with an expected start date of Wednesday 1st September 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 4, £34,220 – £40,194 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
