Job Description:
This Postdoctoral Researcher will assist in the mission of the LSU Center for Coastal Resiliency (CCR), including conduct of external grant projects, providing professional support managing large multidisciplinary projects that focus on approaches to the development of unstructured grids for shallow water flow models with focus on automated vertical feature extraction; Collaborate with other on-campus groups, such as CCT and other centers working with the CCR (e.g., Center for River Studies and Coastal Sustainability Studio); and attend and present at national and international conferences.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct research that focus on approaches to the development of unstructured grids for shallow water flow models with focus on automated vertical feature extraction; Manage data acquisition responsibilities; Collaborate with other on-campus groups, such as CCT and other centers working with the CCR (e.g., Center for River Studies and Coastal Sustainability Studio), to meet the programming needs associated with their research; Attend and present at national and international conferences. (50%)
Development of peer-reviewed journal manuscripts and contribute to the development of research proposals. (30%)
Responsible for mentoring graduate students, and assisting the students with conference presentation preparation and manuscript development. (15%)
Other duties as assigned. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph. D in Civil Engineering or Coastal Engineering and experience tide, wind- wave and hurricane storm surge modeling and with vertical feature extraction. ABD candidates considered but must have Ph.D. conferred by hire date.
Minimum Certifications / Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License
