Postdoctoral Position In Cell Biology
Max Planck Institute Of Molecular Cell Biology And Genetics
We are offering a Postdoctoral Position in Cell Biology.
Job Description Specific targeting and endosomal escape still remain crucial hurdles for successful implementation of macromolecular therapeutics. The know-how in endocytosis positions the group at the leading edge of the studies of macromolecule-based drug delivery systems.
This project aims to investigate the intracellular trafficking of non-viral gene delivery technologies. The uptake, trafficking and endosomal escape of nucleic acids will be analysed in cell lines and primary cells in vitro, and in mouse models in vivo, using quantitative light and electron microscopy approaches. This project will provide proof of concept for new platforms enabling cellular delivery of oligonucleotides in vitro and in vivo and demonstrate the therapeutic potential of the approach. The project will be carried out in collaboration with a major pharmaceutical company.
Your qualifications The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree and documented experience in cell biology and fluorescence microscopy imaging. Experience in in vivo studies with mice will be an advantage. The candidate should be able to interact with members of an interdisciplinary team of cell biologists, physicists, chemists and computer scientists, work in a competitive international environment and possess excellent communication and data presentation skills (English is the working language at the MPI-CBG). Our offer The full-time position is available immediately for an initial period of 2 years with the possibility of extension. Salary and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TVöD Bund (salary agreement for public service employees).
