Department of Chemistry, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA Grade 7: £32,817 – £40,320 p.a.
Applications are invited for a full time Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Polymer Chemistry to work under the supervision of Dr Michael Booth on a research project funded by The Royal Society for a period of up to 10 months (dependant on start date). The project will involve the use of thermoresponsive polymers for the control of DNA.
The project requires expertise in polymer synthesis, such as reversible addition−fragmentation chain-transfer. Experience using thermoresponsive polymers would be ideal. Knowledge of nucleic acid chemistry and chemical biology is not required, but would be useful.
You should be able to adapt existing, and develop new, scientific techniques and experimental protocols. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities, this involves small scale project management. You will supervise junior co-workers other team and lab activities when asked, and to coordinate work to meet specified deadlines.
