A postdoctoral position investigating interactions between learning and perception, using psychophysics, modelling, and neuroimaging.
Fixed term for 36 months with the possibility of extension
You will be a postdoctoral researcher working at Birkbeck and UCL, funded by an ERC consolidator grant. You will examine the interactions between learning and perception, using psychophysics, modelling, and neuroimaging (7T fMRI and/or M/EEG). Your particular role will be determined by your skillset and interests.
The position is based within the lab headed by Professor Clare Press (https:// www. bbk.ac.uk/psychology/actionlab/ https: // www. fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/team/action-and-perception/). Experiments will be conducted both within Birkbeck and at the Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging, UCL (5 minutes’ walk from Birkbeck), and the postholder will work closely with both institutes.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of:
Knowledge of theoretical models of perception and learning
Passion for cognitive theory development using neuroimaging techniques
Excellent coding skills for experimental implementation and data analysis
Remuneration:
Salary: Grade 7 of the College’s London Pay Scale which is £38,594 rising to £44,113 per annum.
The salary quoted is on the College’s London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
