Introduction
The University of Hawaii Cancer Center invites candidates for a postdoctoral position in Lang Wu’s research groupresearch scientist, programmer,Visiting student or visiting scholar, etc.
Our main research interests are in the genetic epidemiology of cancers (e.g., pancreatic and prostate cancers) and Alzheimer’s disease molecular epidemiology, and multiomics based studies (multi-omics such as genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, metabolomics etc),And nutritional epidemiology.
Our work mainly uses epidemiological resources and data(such as cohort studies and case-control studies)And a big international cancer consortia.
Our work has been published in leading journals in the field(e.g., Nat Genet, 2018; Nat Commun, 2020; Cancer Res, 2019 and 2020) It is frequently selected as an oral presentation at academic conferences in the field(e.g. AACRand ASHG).
The University of Hawaii is recognized in the field of cancer epidemiology a leading research institute.
For example, along with the University of Southern California, the University of Hawaii is home of the Multiethnic Cohort Study (MEC).
MEC is a 25-year, large cohort study of five different ethnic/racial populations (Japanese Americans, Latinos, Whites, African Americans and Native Hawaiians) of 215,000 people.
With its ethnic diversity and representation of minority populations, MEC has become a unique study among existing queues.
With the rich scientific environment, there are multiple unique research training opportunities, such as research seminars given by recognized leaders in the field, opportunities for collaborations nationally and internationally, and exposure to diverse research programs and outstanding core facilities.
We are also committed to assisting our members in their careers and scientific research.
