Research Assistant (Fixed Term)
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 September 2021 in the first instance.
Applications are invited for a research assistant to join the group of Prof. Tuomas P.J. Knowles at the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge.
The successful candidate will join an existing team working on the molecular and biophysical aspects of protein phase behaviour. They will be responsible for the development and use of novel assays to study the phase transition of proteins.
The successful candidate will have (or be about to obtain) an MSc or equivalent in the Biomolecular Sciences or Molecular Bioengineering.
They will be highly motivated and should have experience in work with intrinsically disordered proteins and phase separating proteins. Previous experience with advanced optical techniques, such as single-molecule methods, is desirable.
The candidate must have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, have strong interpersonal skills, and work independently.
