The Queensland University of Technology and the Princess Alexandra Hospital are seeking an outstanding researcher with expertise in Genomics.

As a significant Genomics researcher you will bring research strength and leadership to our Genomics capabilities, building capacity in research and expertise across multiple Faculties, engaging with the broader academic and clinical profession, and working with industry and key stakeholders to promote and enhance the national and international profile of our Genomics research.

PhD or a visiting scholar in a related discipline with extensive research experience and track record in your field.
Professor of Clinical Genomics We seek to appoint a research leader in the discipline of Clinical Genomics, Diagnostic Genomics, or Genetic Pathology with responsibility for leading the NATA-accredited Australian Translational Genomics Centre (ATGC) which is implementing genomic annotation in frontline diagnosis and patient management and undertaking cancer genomic discovery research.
The position will help to establish a world-leading research centre in Genomics and will leverage the specialised diagnostic laboratory, facilities and platforms, located within the Translational Research Institute at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) as one of our key distributed sites under the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) – QUT.
The successful candidate will be expected to have clinical and or scientific expertise in genomics and preferably will have experience leading an accredited diagnostics laboratory.
They will also be required to demonstrate an interdisciplinary approach to addressing critical clinical challenges, demonstrate leadership of independent research and the capacity to obtain external grant funding to support their research.
Prospectively, the applicant will be required to lead a genomics research team and take advantage of funding opportunities from national and international funding bodies, health services, and industry linkages.
