Post-doc position in Sustainable Processes and electrocatalytic CO2reduction
Your mission : Advance the research conducted on the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 Design and conduct the experimental campaign using a commercial electrocatalytic flow-cell and the setup installed at EPFL to evaluate production rates and the electrochemical performance of the system; Evaluate and test alternative catalysts to the one currently used (TiO2), in collaboration with EMPA Understand the techno-economic impact of the process and implement a laboratory-scale proof of concept to demonstrate the feasibility of the full process (TRL 3 to TRL 4).
Your profile : PhD in electrochemistry or chemistry, preferably with main research focus on electrochemical CO2 reduction, catalysis, or fuel cell; Recent MSc in chemistry, physics or material science, with proven background in electrochemistry Knowledge/hands-on experience (academic or industrial level) with electrochemical measurements, gas chromatography and chemical analysis of organic and inorganic materials is a must. Experience in industrial chemical processes and/or energy sector is a plus. Proactive and able to work independently on solutions for novel technological challenges; Interested in the techno-economical aspects, life cycle assessment and scalability of cutting edge technologies; Team player, willing to find and maintain collaborations with academic and industrial partners and share knowledge within a research team with a multidisciplinary background Good communication skills, ready to share knowledge within a research team with multidisciplinary background. Open-minded and able to work in a multicultural environment
