The laboratory of Dr. Eric J. Brown in the Department of Cancer Biology is seeking a postdoctoral or visiting scholar researcher to examine the molecular responses to cancer therapeutics that target regulators of genome integrity.
The position available will focus on the biochemical response to such drugs to identify novel drug targets and biomarkers of clinical responsiveness.
Specifically, these studies will seek to purify factors recruited to DNA replication forks upon drug treatment and quantify their abundance by label-free LC-MS/MS and bioinformatic approaches.
Findings from these proteomic studies will be subsequently correlated with tumor-associated mutations and clinical benefit as part of a multi-institutional clinical trial.
The goal of this research is to identify clinically relevant drug response factors that will both better characterize the mechanism of action of these therapeutics and generate novel hypotheses for follow-up biological studies.
Highly qualified candidates will have a PhD、MD-PhD or visiting scholar with extensive experience in biochemical methodologies and/or molecular biology.
To apply, please email a CV with identified references and a cover letter describing your career goals and research accomplishments pertinent to the above research goals to Dr. Brown at email@example.com.
In the subject line of the email, please write “Postdoc Application: DNA-damage responses and cancer therapeutics” to prevent automated filtering.
