Dr. Willy Hugo’s laboratory offers research positions to study the evolution of cancer resistance under the selective pressures of targeted therapies and/or immunotherapy.
The general aim of our lab is to delineate how the tumor and stroma/immune cell populations adapt and interact during the development of drug resistance.
We will be utilizing novel single cell analytics including single cell omics, novel multiplex immunoflu orescence, and high complexity co-culture models to model the immune vs. tumor interaction in patient tumors.
We work closely with multiple collaborators to use in vivo models of cancer and patient-derived tumor xenografts to validate our hypotheses.
Enthusiastic candidates with a recent PhD or a visiting scholar with strong expertise in molecular and cellular biology are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate should have:
1) first author publication in peer-reviewed journal,
2) extensive experience in wet lab molecular and cell biology work (experience in organoid or other co-culture models will be a strong plus),
3) working knowledge in cancer biology and/or immunobiology and
4) strong written and oral English communication skills. The candidate should also possess a strong passion for research such that they read widely about the latest literature on cancer.
If you are interested in joining my team, please provide us with a cover letter, your latest curriculum vitae, and have two references (including your PhD advisor) send letters of recommendation to firstname.lastname@example.org
