Our cancer research program focuses on research in brain tumor molecular biology and experimental cancer therapeutics. This research is led by Winson Ho, Assistant Professor and Rongze Lu, Assistant Professor, in the Department of Neurosurgery, Dell Medical School at The University of Texas, Austin. The lab is well funded by Department of Defense, NIH and private foundational grants.
One-year assignment which can be renewed on an annual basis up to a total of five years. Previous time in a postdoctoral fellow position (whether paid or unpaid) at the University or at any other university counts towards this time limitation (unless the area or discipline changes).
Essential Functions ：
Perform high quality molecular biology research utilizing cancer and cancer stem cell lines, animal models, flow cytometry and tissue microarrays via in vitro and in vivo studies.
Maintain primary immune cell and cancer cell cultures and conduct cell based immune assays. Perform survival animal surgery, stereotactic tumor implantation, histology and data analysis. Independently perform bench work and develop project plans.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required qualifications ：
- Ph.D. degree received with in the last three years in cell biology, cancer biology, immunology, or relevant fields.
- Candidate must be enthusiastic about translational research and driven to have a long-term career goal.
- Excellent ability at identifying problems to solve them. Detail-oriented.
